The V60 is one of the most beloved filter coffee methods among baristas and enthusiasts around the world. It was created by the Japanese brand Hario, and its name comes from the shape of the cone: a "V" with a 60-degree angle.
This method allows you to control every detail: from water temperature to pouring speed. The result is a clean, smooth, and nuanced cup. Ideal if you want to discover the true flavors of the coffee you're using.
Plus, you don't need expensive machines or experience. Just a filter, the V60, freshly ground coffee... and a few minutes to yourself.

How to prepare a V60 ☕

1. Weigh the coffee
Use a scale and add 20g of coffee .

2. Molelo
Medium-fine grind, like table salt. If you have a burr grinder, even better!

3. Heat the water
Bring the water to 92°C . If you don't have a thermometer, wait 30-40 seconds after boiling.

4. Replace the filter and rinse it.
Rinse the filter with hot water to remove the paper taste and warm the carafe.

5. Add the ground coffee to the filter
Level the coffee so that the water falls evenly.
6. Make the pre-infusion
Pour 40 g of water in a circular motion and let it sit for 30 seconds .

7. Main discharges
Add up to 110 g of water
Then up to 180 g
Then up to 250 g
And ends at 320 g
Always pour in gentle, patient circles.
8. Enjoy your coffee
Once the water has completely drained, remove it and serve it hot. Cheers!
Tips:
Water is key: make sure it is clean and filtered.
Store coffee in an airtight container, away from light and moisture.
If the coffee takes a long or short time to flow, adjust the grind.
